Day 3: 25 Days of #MerryBEERmas Movie and Beer Pairing

Day 3 of 25 days of #MerryBEERmas! I’ve come up with another beer and movie pairing for today, which includes two classics in both categories. This would be the first true Christmas related movie so far and we think you’ll love this particular pairing!

December 3rd  Home Alone

Southern Tier Crème Brulee

Home Alone is one of my favorite movies, hands down, and one I remember watching at least twice every Christmas season. This movie is about a young kid who tries to murder two home invaders…Okay…technically accurate but I’ll make it less morbid. Kevin McCalister is a 8 or 9 year old kid who is misunderstood by his comically large extended family. His bully older brother eggs him on into creating an incident after which he is sent to the attic where he oversleeps for the family’s flight to France the next day. THEN THE HIJINKS OCCUR! Kevin is targeted by two local crooks who decide to rob his house because, hey, what could go wrong? Let’s just say Kevin wins the war and the battle.

For this film, I have chosen to pair Southern Tier’s Crème Brulee. Crème Brulee is one of the sweetest and most delicious beers I have ever had. Much like the satisfying and rich ending in the movie, this stout runs high on the sweet factor, and finishes with a taste of pure vanilla. This beer is perfect for a holiday feast and a movie because you definitely need to pace yourself when drinking this 10% ABV bomber. You need to try this beer at least once, but make sure you don’t have to drive anywhere afterward.
